Before Yankee fans were given the opportunity to panic and recreate past failures in postseason play, Derek Jeter eased tensions and blasted a two run home-run inside the left field foul pole in the bottom of the third inning tying the game at 2-2. Minutes before, the Twins had taken a 2-0 lead against starting pitcher C.C Sabathia but it would be all they could muster as the Yankees took the first game of this five game set, 7-2.
